Here's my full review of Fritaire's glass air fryer, which I've been using for well over a year now. This fun kitchen gadget is easy to use, easy to clean, non-toxic, and teflon free.

Most air fryers are made with teflon, which is a non-stick coating that is toxic. This coating often starts to peel off and can get into the food you cook. When I learned about this years ago, I set out looking for a non-toxic air fryer.
There aren't many options when it comes to non-toxic air fryers—typically you'll want to choose one that's either made with stainless steel or glass.
Before finding the Fritaire air fryer, I purchased the Cusinart stainless steel air fryer. I used this for over a year, and found it to work well. The main downside was that it was nearly impossible to clean. The grease got caked on inside the air fryer and actually would start leaking out onto our countertop, which was quite the mess. We eventually got rid of it.
My experience with the Fritaire Air Fryer
When I first came across the Fritaire air fryer, I was really excited about the idea of it being glass and "self cleaning". I also loved the aesthetic of it. So I ordered one.
The first thing I made with it was chicken wings. They came out so crispy and flavorful! Being able to see the cooking process so clearly through the glass made it easy to know when they were done.
The Fritaire air fryer comes with an air tray, rotisserie, tumbler. Personally, I mostly only use the air tray. Sometimes if I want to cook something in it's own fat, I just put the food straight onto the glass. I tried the rotating tumbler once for potatoes but they turned out kind of dry—maybe I didn't use it correctly though.
There are several different settings on the Fritaire such as meat, fish, toast, dehydrate, fries, and chicken. Typically I just set the temperature and time for my cooks rather than use their presets.
Something that sets Fritaire apart from other brands is it's aesthetic—it comes in a variety of beautiful colors and looks so nice on the countertop.
I was shocked by was how easy it is to clean, especially in comparison to the stainless Cuisinart we used beforehand. I've never had an issue with cleaning the glass and the air tray always comes out perfectly clean when I run it through the dishwasher.
I use this air fryer almost every day and have owned it for almost 1.5 years now. It still works great. Overall, I'm really happy with the Fritaire air fryer, even though there are some things that can be a bit inconvenient (keep reading for the "cons").
Does Fritaire's "self cleaning" feature work?
Fritaire's self cleaning feature essentially involves adding soapy water into the bowl and turning the air fryer on. This does work for cleaning, but I actually find the glass so easy to clean in the sink that I rarely feel the need to use the "self cleaning" feature. If you have food that's really caked onto the glass, it can be nice but otherwise the glass cleans fairly effortlessly.
What do you cook with your Fritaire air fryer?
All sort of things! I make chicken wings, steak bites, bacon, meatballs, jalapeño poppers, tallow potatoes, and more. I also often use it for reheating leftovers instead of a microwave. Sometimes I will leave my leftovers in a glass dish so it doesn't get the air fryer dirty.
Does Fritaire offer discounts?
Yes! Fritaire has generously offered my community 15% off your order through this link and my affiliate coupon code RACH15.
Are there any "cons" to Fritaire air fryers?
Yes, definitely—there are pros and cons to every air fryer. Here are the main "cons" I've noticed:
Taking the lid off to check on your food makes it so you have to restart the cook
The tray is smaller than some other air fryers (it's best for cooking for 1-2 people)
Doesn't go above 400 degrees Fahrenheit
It's more expensive than most of the teflon options
All in all, the pros for me definitely outweigh the cons. It's my favorite air fryer that we've owned so far.
What is Fritaire's warranty and return policy?
Fritaire offers a 30 day return policy if you aren't happy with the product. They also have a warranty of 90 days. Based on the reviews and what I've heard from my community, the customer service is very responsive and helpful.
In Conclusion
If you're looking for a high quality non-toxic air fryer that's easy to use and clean, I'd recommend giving Fritaire a try! Keep in mind, air fryers are definitely a "nice to have" item, and not a "need to have". For some people, they are worth it for the convenience.
